While the website appears to be mostly complete, I think that I will forever be trying to add new features, sections, or information to help things along. Hopefully, this site will be an avenue for you to read information regarding various policies or processes--including but not limited to trading books, purchasing, ordering, and putting books on a watch list--along with catching up on our latest events such as book signings, coupons, or other specials.
I'd also like to include Book Reviews, but for that I would appreciate input from you. I'm aware that reading reviews from only one person (me, in this case) can get dull and repetitive (she read another book on dragons? Say it isn't so!) so with that in mind, if you would like to submit a book review to me then I can post it on the website. I'd be happy to include your name and whatnot if you would like it listed with the review--otherwise it can be kept anonymous.
If you are not familiar with our store or the way we do business and your first contact with us is online: We would be pleased to hear from you! Please let us know what your needs and questions are, we will be more than happy to help. We know that many of you have already had experience with other Used Bookstores and we would be more than happy to point out a few differences with our system. It's up to you whether they are improvements or simply another flavor in the world of used books.
For a brief history, you should know the following about us: Calico Books is actually the Daughter-Store of Booklover's Used Bookstore, in Fort Collins. Booklover's was established in 2001and purchased by the current Owner's in 2005--ever since that time we have been responsible for providing both outstanding service and selections of books. Booklover's is Owned and Managed by Theresa Bayless while Calico Books is also owned by Theresa, but it is Managed by her daughter, Becky Hancock. Our specialty is customer service: if we have failed to be of service and to do our best to meet your needs, then it doesn't matter what books we do or do not have in stock. However, we've had a number of years worth of experience dealing with Used Books and we are quite capable of ordering hard-to-find or out-of-print books along with new titles and many other services which we hope to introduce you to.
