We can indeed order both new and used books, at your convenience. Most
often, this is necessary if when we don't have a particular title in the
store and it doesn't seem likely that it will come in of its own accord
(perhaps because of its age or that it's collectible). Other times, you
might just need/want a book as soon as we can get it in. For these and
other times, we can arrange to do a book search for you to see if we can
get a hold of one for you.
For any Order...
We'll need your name, phone number, and whatever pertinent information
about the book that you can give us. In an ideal situation, you might
have the Author, Title, and even the ISBN number! But we are well aware
that that's often not the case (hence it being hard to find in the first
place). So, whatever information you can give us is most helpful.
After we have the information, we will do a search (that is free of
charge) to see if we can get a hold of any copies for you. We always try
to find the copy that it's in the best condition for the price. We also
know that some folks don't care about the condition, so long as they
can read it, and others don't care about the price as long as it's
collectible---either way, we will do our best to accommodate you.
Once we have some options (or if we simply cannot find anything) we will
call you to let you know what we've found. We will never order
something without checking with you first.
We do not charge a deposit. You pay the cost of the book, the
shipping/handling cost, and an additional $4 for us to order it in this
fashion. If we aren't able to come up with anything in our search, or
the options we find just aren't going to work for you then you don't pay
us a thing.
New Book ordering...
We do have access to a new-book publisher and sometimes, usually if the
book is newer, we can find it through them. If this is the case, then
you do not pay the $4 charge or shipping and handling. You simply pay
the cost of the book--which is %20 off the cover price when we order
through them.
The only catch with ordering a new book through us like this... is that
for us to be able to not charge shipping, we do often have to wait until
we have a large enough order. Sometimes this is only a couple days,
other times it might be a couple weeks. If you don't need the book in a
huge hurry, though, it's certainly a feasible method. It never hurts to
ask if we're near an order time, if you DO need it quickly--never know
when the timing might be just right. ;)
